Privacy Policy
What we collect, why, who else sees it, and how to get it back or have it erased.
The short version
We collect what we need to take an order, ship it, and answer you when you write to us. We never sell your personal data, and we never share it with anyone except the services that make the store run — listed by name below.
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, at any time. Write to support@hallucinogenics.store and we will respond within one month.
What we collect
- Order and account details you type in: name, email address, phone number, shipping and billing address, and anything you write in an order note or a message to us.
- Your order history, including what you bought, what you paid, and its delivery status.
- Your wishlist and any back-in-stock or price-drop alerts you ask for.
- Technical data your browser sends on every visit: IP address, browser and device type, referring page, and timestamps. We use this for fraud prevention, for keeping the site working, and in aggregate to understand which pages are useful.
- Whether you have confirmed you are 19 or older, stored as a single cookie on your device.
What we never collect
We never see or store your full card number, your CVV, or your crypto wallet keys. Card payments are taken on the payment provider's own hosted page, and cryptocurrency payments are handled by a dedicated payment processor; in both cases the sensitive part never touches our systems. We receive only the result — paid, pending, or failed — and an order reference.
We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 19, and no one under 19 may use this site.
Why we collect it
- To take payment for an order and to ship it to you.
- To send transactional email you have asked for: order confirmations, e-transfer instructions, back-in-stock alerts, and password resets.
- To send marketing email — only if you have expressly opted in by ticking a box. Under Canada's anti-spam legislation, asking about one product is not consent to be marketed to, and we treat it that way.
- To prevent fraud and abuse, and to meet our legal and accounting obligations.
- To improve the store, by understanding in aggregate which pages and products people use.
Who processes your data for us
We share personal data only with the services that make the store run, and each receives only what it needs to do its job. They include:
- Our store platform and hosting — your account, your orders, and the catalogue.
- Our email marketing provider, for subscribers only — your email address, first name where given, and your consent status and the time it was recorded.
- Meta (Facebook) Pixel — advertising and measurement. Receives page and event data associated with a browser, not your name or address.
- Our payment processors — card and cryptocurrency payments, as described above.
- Our live chat provider — support conversations. Receives whatever you type into the chat, plus the page you started it from.
- Canada Post — delivery. Receives the name and address on the parcel.
- Our own mail server — transactional email. Your address is used to send the message and nothing else.
- Our reviews provider — product reviews, if you choose to leave one.
Cookies
The site sets a small number of cookies of its own, all of them necessary for it to work: one links your browser to your basket, one keeps you signed in, one remembers that you confirmed your age, and one stops a checkout being counted twice. None of them are used for advertising.
The advertising, email and live chat services described above set their own cookies, which is how an ad can be measured, an abandoned-basket email can be accurate, or a chat can still be there when you come back. You can block or delete any of them in your browser's privacy settings, or with tracking protection or an ad blocker — though blocking the necessary ones will stop the basket, sign-in and age confirmation from working. Opting out of marketing email is separate, always available from the unsubscribe link in any message, and always honoured.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept for as long as we are required to keep them for tax and accounting purposes. Account details are kept until you ask us to delete them. Marketing contacts are kept until you unsubscribe, which you can do from any marketing email. Technical logs are kept for a short period and then discarded.
Your rights
Under Canadian privacy law you may ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, ask us to delete it, and withdraw consent to marketing at any time. Write to support@hallucinogenics.store. We will respond within one month, and we will not charge you for it.
Deleting your account does not delete records we are legally required to retain, such as completed order and tax records.
Changes and contact
We update this policy when the way we handle data changes; changes take effect when posted on this page. Questions, requests, or complaints: support@hallucinogenics.store, or use the contact page.
