5-MeO-DMT is a psychedelic tryptamine alkaloid, a methoxylated cousin of N,N-DMT that runs four to six times more powerful. It's best known from the secretions of the Sonoran Desert toad (Bufo alvarius), but it also occurs in dozens of plants, notably Anadenanthera, Phalaris, and Virola species, and at least one Amanita mushroom.
