Changa eases the user into the experience at a much more relaxing rate compared to other methods of consumption such as straight freebase or the DMT vape. The experience allows the user to ease into it at a more controllable and mellow pace. The feeling that you need to rapidly hit it to achieve a breakthrough is not necessary, as the MAOI inhibitor makes the DMT metabolize much slower, allowing you to take relaxed hits.

📖 What is Changa?

Changa is a blanket term for a smokable blend that contains the psychedelic substance dimethyltryptamine (NN-DMT) infused onto a MAOI(Monoamine oxidase inhibitor) containing herb such as Syrian Rue or Banisteriopsis Caapi. In this case we use Banisteriopsis Caapi leafs a long with other herbs that smell nice and have benefits such as aiding in lung health(See full ingredient list below). The MAOI inhibitor is what is also found in the Ayahuasca brew, it is what extends the DMT experience by ceasing your body’s ability to breakdown the DMT. In this case it’ll extend the DMT smoking experience by 10 – 30 minutes depending on natural metabolization, method of consumption(bong or joint), and how many hits you took.

Changa can be smoked in a manner like tobacco or cannabis.

The changa experience can be characterized as more gentle and coherent rather than chaotic which N,N-DMT Freebase can be characterized as.

🎭 The Changa Experience

When smoked, Changa will be felt within the first 20 to 30 seconds or so as a light buzz. If you’re taking a large hit, like from a bong, you’ll feel it come on strongly but more gently than just smoking N,N-DMT freebase alone without the MAOI inhibitor. Although it’s gentler, it can last much longer than N,N-DMT. If your freebase experience lasts 10 minutes, a Changa experience is likely to last 15 to 30 minutes and be much more coherent and less chaotic. Additionally, with Changa, the amount of actual DMT can be less, as the MAOI inhibitor makes it feel more potent.

Like smoking N,N-DMT freebase, Changa will also teleport you to different realms and you may communicate with entities. It also provides very nice open-eye visuals, with everything appearing more bright and vibrant. Sub-breakthrough doses with Changa are especially special as they last longer than sub-breakthrough doses with just N,N-DMT freebase or the DMT vape, allowing you to take your time and enjoy things like music or tactile sensations, such as the heat from the sun on your body, and deeply experience a blissful state.

Out-of-body experiences (defined as the dissociation of awareness from the physical body) are also commonly reported with high doses of DMT, and this is actually considered one of the “hallmarks” of a high-dose DMT experience.

In his 2000 book, The Spirit Molecule, psychedelic researcher and psychologist Rick Strassman describes studies during which approximately half of the study subjects reported interactions with “intelligent beings”, “entities”, “aliens”, “guides” or “helpers”. Ethnobotanist and psychonaut Terrence McKenna called these beings “machine elves.” According to Strassman’s work, they take the form of “clowns, reptiles, mantises, bees, spiders, cacti, and stick figures.” They have also been described on several online forums as being “made of geometric patterns”.

📝 Directions of use

  1. Weight our approximately 200mg of Changa
  2. Grab your preferred smoking apparatus, usually a bong or you can roll it into a joint.
  3. Smoke it like you’d smoke cannabis.
  4. Take as many hits as you feel is right for your desired outcome whether you want a sub-breakthrough dose or a breakthrough dose.

TIPS:
Start slow, take little inhalations to get a feel of your tolerance to the smoke.

Dangerous interactions

Warning: Many psychoactive substances that are reasonably safe to use on their own can suddenly become dangerous and even life-threatening when combined with certain other substances. The following list provides some known dangerous interactions (although it is not guaranteed to include all of them).

Always conduct independent research (e.g. Google, DuckDuckGo, PubMed) to ensure that a combination of two or more substances is safe to consume.

  • 2C-T-x – MAO-B inhibitors can increase the potency and duration of phenethylamines unpredictably, which could be dangerous given the unpredictability of the 2C-T-x series
  • 2C-x – MAO-B inhibitors can increase the potency and duration of phenethylamines unpredictably
  • DOx – MAO-B inhibitors can increase the potency and duration of phenethylamines unpredictably
  • Ketamine – MAO-B inhibitors appear to increase the potency of Ketamine. MAO-A inhbitors have some negative reports associated with the combination but there isn’t much information available
  • Mescaline
  • NBOMes – MAO-B inhibitors can increase the potency and duration of phenethylamines unpredictably
  • Opioids – Coadministration of monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) with certain opioids has been associated with rare reports of severe and fatal adverse reactions. There appear to be two types of interaction, an excitatory and a depressive one. Symptoms of the excitatory reaction may include agitation, headache, diaphoresis, hyperpyrexia, flushing, shivering, myoclonus, rigidity, tremor, diarrhea, hypertension, tachycardia, seizures, and coma. Death has occurred in some cases.
  • Alcohol – Tyramine found in many alcoholic beverages can have dangerous reactions with MAOIs, causing an increase in blood pressure.
  • MXE – MAO-B inhibitors appear to increase the potency of MXE. MAO-A inhbitors have some negative reports associated with the combination but there isn’t much information available
  • 5-MeO-xxT
  • Amphetamines – MAO-B inhibitors can increase the potency and duration of phenethylamines unpredictably. MAO-A inhibitors with amphetamine can lead to hypertensive crises.
  • aMT – aMT is an MAOI on its own. Using enzyme inhibitors can greatly reduce predictability of effects.
  • Cocaine – This combination is poorly explored
  • DXM – High risk of serotonin syndrome
  • MDMA – MAO-B inhibitors can increase the potency and duration of phenethylamines unpredictably. MAO-A inhibitors with MDMA will lead to hypertensive crises.
  • PCP – This combination is very poorly explored
  • SSRIs
  • Tramadol

DMT, or N,N-Dimethyltryptamine, is a psychoactive chemical alkaloid that occurs naturally in both plants and animals, from exceedingly simple underwater organisms, to large, complex, and intelligent land mammals. DMT is also the primary active hallucinogenic compound in Ayahuasca, which is a psychotropic brew consisting of Banisteriopsis caapi and Psychotria viridis among other plants. Ayahuasca has been used for ritual purposes by indigenous people in the Amazon rainforest for hundreds, if not thousands of years.

People also ingest DMT in crystal or “freebase” form, smoking it in a pipe, bong, or more recently vaporizer cartridges. This form of ingestion produces a powerful but short-lasting hallucinogenic state, considered by many to be one of the most intense psychedelic experiences in existence.

DMT is also a fundamental “building block” of many other psychedelic substances, including psilocybin (4-PO-HO-DMT) and it is structurally analogous to both serotonin and melatonin. This similar structure is what it allows to bind with 5-HT (serotonin) receptors and cause physiological effects.
